  At an early age, Alicia began making handbags from scraps of fabric taken from her mother's supply of material. Sitting patiently, waiting for her mother to finish making curtains or a dress, Alicia would enthusiastically take the remnants and run off to create her masterpieces. Those early beginnings led her to start her first fashion line as a teenager when she outfitted her younger sister with a few new dresses and blouses each week. This earned Alicia her first award when her sister was named Best Dressed!
Her love of crafting unique handbags, clothing and accessories has continued to grow and led her into the niche market of costume and special occasion design. Alicia has been a highly sought after costume designer in New England specializing in the performing and theatrical arts. In 2002, she had the unique opportunity to create the entire winning wardrobe for Miss Connecticut. Alicia’s wardrobe design led Miss Connecticut to a Top Ten finish at 2003 Miss America Pageant and launched Alicia as a premier pageant designer. Since then, Alicia has designed countless evening gowns, swimsuits, dance and production costumes. Alicia has also become one of the principal designers for LP Dance Arts, a production company in Connecticut.
Now, Alicia has come full circle. The Alicia Nicole handbag line takes the designer back to her roots and takes us to that special place with her. Alicia Nicole is the revelation of the designer’s belief that fashion should be a work of art – yet wearable. Each handbag is an original concept that is artfully conceived of her heart and soul….born of her imagination. She carefully hand selects each fabric, stone and bead that goes into every handbag. Then, she meticulously creates each design one at a time to ensure that her passion comes through each and every time.
